Your Chairman - Mike Harrison

Mike's mother Beryl was an accomplished tennis player and introduced him to the game when he was ten years old. He was coached for a few years at The River Originals Tennis Club, River, Dover.

Following his move to Bath he became a founder member and Secretary of The Iconoclasts Tennis Club in 1990. The Club entered their first team in the CHDTL in 1991. Initially, they had theirfirst season at St Mark’s School and subsequently played at King Edwards School, Prior Park College, and Bath University before settling at Alice Park where they have now played for sixteen years. They are a small club and enjoy playing tennis in a relaxed, good humoured and competitive way.

Mike is now retired following a career in education. He worked at Hardenhuish School, Chippenham, for 30 years and was also Secretary of the Wiltshire National Union of Teachers (later the NEU). He knows the county very well!

Mike has previously been the Chair of a School Governors Health and Safety Committee, The South West NUT Federation and, latterly, for nine years as Chair of the cooperatively owned Bell Inn, Bath.
